The DREAM – Specialized High Schools Institute (DREAM-SHSI) is a 22 month program that prepares economically disadvantaged middle school students to take the Specialized High School Admissions Test (SHSAT) for a chance to be admitted to one of eight rigorous high schools:

The Bronx High School of Science

Brooklyn Technical High School

The Brooklyn Latin School

High School for Mathematics, Science and Engineering at City College

High School of American Studies at Lehman College

Queens High School for the Sciences at York College

Staten Island Technical High School

Stuyvesant High School

If you attended one of these schools, you know firsthand that graduating from a specialized high school often means being well prepared for college and for starting a career. For DREAM-SHSI students who spend the majority of their program focused on SHSAT prep, these schools can be foreign and unfamiliar.

If you attended a specialized high school and want to help make your alma mater more accessible, share your high school experiences with DREAM-SHSI students so that they are motivated to make the most of DREAM-SHSI and are better able to choose the school that's right for them.

Apply below to speak directly to DREAM-SHSI students. By sharing your candid experiences with students through mentoring, themed panels, workshops, and break-out sessions, you can help shape the next generation of specialized high school students.
